Donna Domenicali
Donna Domenicali, President of Blue Heron Designs Inc., specializes in providing design services for homeowners nearing retirement who want to update their residences, convert a space to suit their hobbies or needs, or accommodate visiting grandchildren or aging parents.
Donna’s work was featured in the books “Designed in New Jersey, An Exquisite Collection of New Jersey’s Finest Designers” and “Asian Influenced Architecture & Design.” She has also written a series of articles about designs for baby boomers for Jersey Shore Woman newspaper and has been published in Design NJ, Asbury Park Press, Star Ledger, Monmouth Health & Life, Prime Woman, and Exceptional Parent.
Donna has been a requested guest speaker for several nonprofit groups, including the Muscular Dystrophy Association, discussing how to accommodate age- and disease-related impairments without sacrificing style.
She is a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist as well as an Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designers. She has a B.A. degree from Wellesley College, an M.B.A. Magna Cum Laude in Marketing from Columbia Graduate School of Business and a B.F.A. with High Distinction from the New York School of Interior Design. As a student there, she met Christopher and Dana Reeve and received permission to use their house plans for a senior project.
Donna brings considerable corporate business experience to her interior design career. She became a product manager for Shulton, Nabisco and Reckitt & Colman after receiving her M.B.A.
Donna lives three blocks from the Atlantic Ocean with her husband and dog.
